Camden, NJ, January 1st, 2021 - Victor Musical Industries (VMI) has unveiled additional branding to its corporate overhaul plans that began in 2020. Apart from the traditional ‘Victor’ logo, Victor announced the ‘VMI’ branding will be utilized interchangeably with the traditional VICTOR logo, and will appear most notably on products that are ‘less directly musical’ in nature...or on musical products in which a reference to the overall corporation itself is needed.

“We feel there has been a little (but not much) confusion over the difference between a record label, a product, and a company and we want to be able to drive that point home sometimes in our branding.”, said Ivan Munoz, an executive brand manager and musician with the historic firm. “The VMI logo is also a subtle nod to the lineage of Victor’s UK company, EMI, which Victor formed as its British subsidiary in 1898. Being a globally minded American Company, we have to consider how we’re seen in every market and VMI will be more prominent in those markets for that reason”.

Victor Musical Industries has long focused on maintaining regional brand identities; a practice that often goes against the traditional, modern corporate grain of homogenizing a brand presence globally, the company brands some Victor Talking Machine Co® products for the UK market as ‘The Gramophone Co. Ltd.®’, in keeping with that market’s historic Victor sister company, The Gramophone Co. LTD (which would later become EMI).
